The 12 young people from the district are traveling to Sydney to take part in the World Youth Day activities and are leaving on July 14. There is great excitement among them as the day of departure is approaching.

Members of the local parish have been fundraising to help make it possible for the group to attend and a parish luncheon was held after the special church service on July 6. They were presented with backpacks commemorating their participation in the worldwide event.

A group of Polish young people are also on their way to Sydney and are spending some tome in the Gilbert Valley.

Four local families have billeted them and they attended the church service and luncheon. They are enjoying their stay in the Gilbert Valley and will have great memories of their trip to Australia.
